Terms of Use

1. Acceptance of Terms

By registering for, accessing, or using the DueVinci academic planner application ("Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Use ("Terms") and our Privacy Policy & Data Retention Policy. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not access or use the Service.

2. Description of the Service

DueVinci provides students with organizational productivity tools, including syllabus tracking, assignment scheduling, Pomodoro focus timers, grade calculations, calendar integration, and AI-assisted syllabus extraction. We reserve the right to enhance, modify, or discontinue features of the application to improve student workflows.

3. User Accounts and Security

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials (email and password). You agree to notify us immediately of any unauthorized use of your account. DueVinci is not liable for losses caused by unauthorized use of your credentials.

4. Student Data Ownership & Content Rights

You retain 100% ownership of all syllabi, assignments, course materials, notes, and information you upload or create within DueVinci. By submitting coursework to DueVinci, you grant us only a limited, non-exclusive license strictly necessary to store, render, and process the material for your personal use within the app.

5. AI Features & Academic Accuracy Disclaimer

DueVinci includes artificial intelligence features (powered by Google Gemini API) to parse uploaded syllabi into structured units and assignments. While we strive for high precision, AI models may occasionally misinterpret dates, times, or assignment descriptions.

6. Acceptable Use Policy

You agree not to:

• Use the Service for any unlawful, infringing, or fraudulent purpose.
• Attempt to probe, scan, or compromise the vulnerability of any Supabase backend or edge API endpoint.
• Upload viruses, malware, or destructive code.
• Interfere with or disrupt the integrity or performance of the Service.

7. Self-Service Account Termination & Erasure

You may terminate your account at any time using the self-service Delete Account & All Data feature in your Settings modal. Upon confirmation, your active courses, assignments, calendar events, and profile data are immediately destroyed from our database tables in accordance with our Data Retention Policy.

8. Disclaimer of Warranties & Limitation of Liability

The Service is provided on an "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE" basis without warranties of any kind. To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, DueVinci and its contributors shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages resulting from your use of or inability to use the Service.
